A look back at the motorcycle history of Zschopau
|
1975 Model, MZ RZ 250/2 Race Machine
250 cc, 62 hp, 115 kg, 240 kph.
The RZ 250/2 marked the end of 25 years of successful 2 stroke rotary
valve racers. In this period power output had almost been tripled. The
official reason for the discontinuation of racing was that it no longer
produced any "spin-off" benefits for everyday production
machines. |
|
1976 Model, MZ TS 250/1.
250 cc, 19 hp, 131 kg, 130 kph.
A modified engine, a five speed gearbox and the frame which
incorporated various features of the cross - country models gave the TS
superior roadability in its class. |
|
1979 Model, MZ TS 125
125 cc, 10 hp, 106 kg, 100 kph.
Handy 125 cc models and analogous 150 cc variants, produced since 1932,
have accounted for a large share of Zschopau's overall production. The RT,
ES and ETS series were followed in 1973 by the TS 125. |
