A look back at the motorcycle history of Zschopau
|
1922 Model, DKW "Reichsfahrt Modell"
143cc, 2½ hp, 40 kg, 65 kph.
Two stroke auxiliary bicycle engine with a forced cooling system (using
a fan), flywheel magneto ignition, petroil lubrication and a 1:3 step down
gear |
|
1922 Model, DKW Lomos Motorscooter
143cc, 2½ hp, 52 kg, 60 kph.
Utilising the same engine as the "Reichsfahrt Modell" the
Motorscooter was equipped with swinging arm rear suspension with
telescopic forks. Something that didn't become a standard feature on
motorbikes, internationally, until the 50's! The backrest acted as the
fuel tank. |

1925 Model, DKW SM
175 cc, 3 hp, 80 kg, 65 kph.
Only a thousand of the SM were built, with pressed steel frames and
