The Mikuni carbs can be sourced from Suzuki T500 R, J, K or L and GT500 A.
It does, however, require slight modification.
-
Where the cab mouth engages the inlet stub the outer diameter needs reducing
by about 1/8
th
of an inch.
-
Due to differing cable adjusters the MZ BVF top is used (screws straight on)
but does need a 1/8
th
inch washer between the spring and the carb top to prevent the slide lifting
too far and turning. (jamming the throttle wide open, don't ask!).
This resulted in crisper low speed response, stronger mid range and a slight
increase in top speed, the downside was fuel consumption increased by about 5
mpg.
