Possible Causes and Remedies
Possible Cause | Remedy |
Damaged cables and connections between 61 regulator and 61 rectifier, D+ regulator and D+ rectifier, 51 regulator and battery | Repair or replace damaged parts |
The voltage measured between D+ regulator and earth is greater than that between 51 regulator and earth | Replace regulator |
Regulator contacts between DF and 61 of the regulator insulated from each other | Replace regulator |
With the battery disconnected and the regulator connections withdrawn, perform a resistance test between DF and 61 at the regulator (R > 0.5 ohm). Rectifier defective | Replace rectifier |
Cable DF between regulator and alternator interrupted | Replace cables involved |
Damaged brushes or brush connections | Replace brushes or connections |
Rotor defective | Replace Rotor |
Cables U/V/W between stator and rectifier and/or ground connection damaged | Repair or replace damaged parts |
Defective stator | Replace stator |
